Privacy policy

This website is a static, informational site. It does not ask you to create an account, and it has no login, no patient portal and no online payment.

It does not set advertising or tracking cookies, and it does not build a profile of you for marketing purposes. Standard technical information — the kind every web server records, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested — may be logged by the hosting provider for security and to keep the site running.

When you telephone, message us on WhatsApp, or email drdipenariwala@gmail.com, you choose what to share. Most people send their name, contact details, a description of the problem, and often their scans and reports.

That information is used for one purpose: to advise you and to arrange your care. It is not sold, rented, or shared with anyone for marketing.

WhatsApp is provided by a third party and its own privacy terms apply to messages in transit. If you would prefer not to send clinical images through it, bring them to your appointment instead — that is always an option, and it is never a problem.

Clinical records created when you become a patient — consultation notes, imaging, operation notes, correspondence — are kept confidentially in accordance with Indian medical record-keeping requirements and professional obligations of medical confidentiality.

They are shared outside the practice only where it is necessary for your care, such as with the hospital where your surgery is performed, an anaesthetist, a physiotherapist you are referred to, or your insurer for pre-authorisation of a claim you have asked us to support. They are also shared where the law requires it.

Clinical records are retained for the periods required by Indian medical regulations and professional guidance. Enquiries that do not become consultations are kept only as long as needed to respond to them, and are then deleted.

You may ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct anything inaccurate, ask us to delete information we no longer have a legal or clinical reason to keep, and withdraw consent for anything you previously agreed to — including consent for a testimonial or a photograph.

Clinical photographs are taken only where they are useful for your care, or for teaching, and never published in an identifiable form without your specific written consent.

Patient stories on this website are published with their provenance clearly stated. Where a story is a verified review it appears with the patient's written consent, using first name and last initial only. Consent can be withdrawn at any time and the content will be removed.

This website is served over HTTPS. Access to clinical records is restricted to those involved in your care. No system is perfectly secure, and we do not claim otherwise — but information is not collected through this site that does not need to be.

Where a patient is under 18, a parent or legal guardian provides consent and receives the information about their care, in line with the usual practice for minors.

If this policy changes, the revised version will be published here with a new date at the top.
